And this brings me to my biggest takeaway. On the bench sat players like Ansu Fati, who is insanely quick, and Ousmane Dembele, a player capable of weaving magic with the ball. While Torres worked hard, neither his style nor his effectiveness complemented the other players on the pitch. I felt like Xavi missed a chance to introduce some game-changing pace or to exploit Brest’s weaknesses by introducing fresh legs at a critical moment.

I think this highlights the need for more tactical flexibility. A great coach can adapt their strategy to the game itself. Maybe Xavi should have swapped out Torres earlier for a more impactful substitute.

This is what I mean by it being a “missed opportunity”. It was a good game, don't get me wrong! But introducing a different player earlier on could have made it a great game.

Ultimately, the match shows Barcelona needs to continuously adapt their lineup and tactical approach for different opponents. A fixed lineup might work great against some teams, but that might spell failure against other teams. The result wasn't a disaster, but it definitely wasn't a full display of Barca's maximum potential.
